Class Celebrations and Birthday Treats
Healthy Celebrations ~
We will not be sharing an edible treat for birthdays. If you would like to send in a non edible item for the students, we have 22 students in our classroom.
Birthdays are a special time and we love to celebrate with your child. To share in this celebration you may send in a favorite toy or your child’s favorite book to share with the class. If your child has a summer birthday, we will be celebrating his/her “half” birthday during the school year (July 22nd would be celebrated on January 22nd). I will be passing out a special gift to your child to celebrate their special day!
Please do not send birthday invitations to school to be passed out unless everyone is invited. While we understand that it is often not possible to invite an entire class to a party, invitations passed out to only some children result in hurt feelings. Children’s addresses may be found in our school directory.

Darby Creek ENews
Dear Hilliard Families,
Beginning this month we are transitioning to a new communication tool for our district. This will allow us to communicate more effectively with our parents and community members. This message is the last we plan to send from our current system.
To continue to receive email messages from our principals and the district, please confirm that your contact information is correct in HomeAccess. You no longer have to subscribe to individual building email lists, because you will automatically be linked with your student or students and their own schools. If you have trouble with HomeAccess or forgot your username and password please contact your child’s school secretary.
Once your contact information in HomeAccess is accurate, you can click here to go to the School Messenger webpage to manage what news you want to receive. Be sure to create your account with the email address you use in HomeAccess.
If you no longer have students in our schools, or are community members wishing to be on our distribution lists, you can sign up here.
On July 7th we sent out our first eNews message using the new system via School Messenger. We will begin using School Messenger on Thursday, July 28, 2016.
Parents/Guardians: Please use Home Access Center to update your email address. To update your email preferences please use SchoolMessenger InfoCenter. .
Online Progress Reports
Online progress reports: If you need help logging in to Home Access Center, or if you do not have Internet access, please contact the school office for assistance.
Hilliard City Schools’ top priority is ensuring a fiscally responsible budget while providing a quality education to our students. To help with this goal, we are moving all student progress reports online to Home Access Center (HAC). By providing these reports in an electronic format, parents will receive important information regarding their student’s academic progress and Hilliard City Schools will save more than $11,000 each year in printing costs.
Elementary progress reports for the first marking period will be available through the secure Home Access Center by Friday, November 15. To access this information simply:
1. visit the district’s website at www.hilliardschools.org;
2. select the “Parents” tab and click on the “Home Access Center” link;
3. enter your unique log-in and password; and,
4. click on the “Grades” link to view the progress report.
If you have not updated your student’s information yet this year, please also do that while in home access.
Hilliard Schools’ Flyers Move Online
We’ve all experienced the frustration of sifting through all the papers in the backpack searching for the one thing that may be of interest to our family. In many cases we simply dump the entire stack, sometimes missing the important note from the teacher or the great opportunity from the PTO. At Hilliard City Schools we want to be responsive to parent requests and create a better experience for all families while also being more environmentally friendly and cost effective in our operations.
Starting March 1st all PTO, Booster and community group fliers will be available online in the Hilliard Schools’ Flyer Connection. This means no more printing expenses for school groups and better communication with parents! All fliers will be available in one location and parents can search by school or school grade level to find out about all the great things going on. Simply click here to find out about great opportunities for your student today!
Learn how to submit a flyer and more online at www.hilliardschools.org/flyers/.

We need your box tops NOW!
Remember to save your box tops and labels for education! Last year we made over $2,000 from box tops alone. The class with the most wins a prize!DCE PTO."
